On Friday, December 4th, at 8:40 P.M. Huntington Manor firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Oakwood Rd near Craven Street. Assistant Chief James Glidden arrived first on scene and transmitted a Signal 35 for a working fire. Firefighters stretched two handlines to the front door and made an aggressive interior attack on the fire. All of the homes occupants had self evacuated prior to the Departments arrival. Firefighters from Huntington and Melville were called to assist at the scene. The Greenlawn Fire Department stood by at fire headquarters. Huntington Community First Aid Squad evaluated one person from the home. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated, but not consdered suspicious at this time. Chief Chuck Brady was in charge of operations assited by Chiefs Glidden, Christen and Cloonan.
