Friday afternoon at 2:40 P.M. Chief of Department Jon Hoffmann noticed an odor of smoke in the area of Railroad Street and McKay Road. A quick investigation revealed a fully involved structure fire. He radioed dispatch and requested a working fire be transmitted. Due to an extreme cluttering condition on the property and in the structure, firefighters had difficulty accessing the fire and an exterior attack was ordered. The fire was declared under control in about 2 hours. Town of Huntington Fire Marshals and the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad were on scene to determine the cause of the fire. We were assisted on scene by members of Greenlawn, Huntington and Melville Fire Departments. Dix Hills Fire Department stood by at our headquarters and the Huntington Community First Aid Squad provided a E.M.S. standby at the scene. There were no reported injuries,
