Saturday afternoon at 1:30 P.M. Huntington Manor firefighters were requested for a Medevac landing at Stimson Middle School. A child who was swimming received severe injuries when the pool they were in suddenly collapsed, causing the child to be swept out of the pool and receive severe lacerations from the pools steel wall. The child and mother were transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. We received an update that the child had emergency surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. Great job by Huntington Community and all agencies involved.
