Huntington Manor firefighters finished up a busy weekend with a structure fire at a residence on Ruby Lane Sunday afternoon. Manor dispatch received numerous calls reporting smoke from a house. First Assistant Chief Chuck Brady was first on scene and confirmed a working fire. Upon arrival firefighters from Engine 3 stretched a hose line into the house and extinguished the fire. We were assisted at the scene by Dix Hills and Melville Fire Departments and Huntington Fire Department provided standby coverage at our Headquarters. Members of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad provided an E.M.S. standby at the scene. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire was unknown but not deemed suspicious at this time. Chief Jon Hoffman was the incident commander, assisted by Chiefs Brady and Glidden.
